In fact, in terms of distance, Thailand is more distant from Indonesia compared to Cambodia because Thailand was in eastern Cambodia.

Four-hour trip to Cambodia was still added to the flight departure delays for two hours while on transit at Changi Airport, Singapore. Until now I have found no direct flight from Jakarta to Phnom Penh.

Advice for Driving in Winter Weather Including Snow and Ice

Posted by pahpoh 4:00 PM, under ,,,, | No comments

Okay so today we are going to talk about driving in winter weather. For someone who was born and has spent his life in Vermont winter driving is like second nature to me. It was not until I married a Texan that I realized that not all people have winter driving in their blood. So with that I am going to give some advice that will hopefully help you out.

The first thing I noticed with my wife's driving is that she was petrified of snowflakes when she was driving. She however did not look at the road and was not aware of things such as black ice. So my first piece of advise would be to look at the road and not the sky. Sure heavy blowing snow can blind you but the ice on the ground can cause you to slide off and get into an accident. Drive slow in winter weather and monitor conditions carefully.

Now how about tires?

Real Fur Fashion Is back In Style

Posted by pahpoh 2:46 AM, under ,, | No comments

Real fur is back in style and flying off the racks, despite decades of protests by animal rights activists. From fur leggings to beaver hoodies, genuine fur fashion is dominating runways and generating billions of dollars in annual sales. Those who previously gave real fur fashion the cold shoulder are warming up to it again, due in part to a campaign by the Fur Council of Canada (FCC) to portray fur as a product that is sustainable, biodegradable, and renewable.

The industry had been taking hits since the early 1980s, after fur protesters stepped into the media spotlight with shocking allegations that discredited the fur trade. The council decided it was time to set the story straight about the true ecological role of the industry.

It enlisted Montreal-based writer Alan Herscovici, who saw people carefully weighing the environmental impacts of their choices, and it wasn't a big leap to convince them that wearing faux fur is the same as wearing non-biodegradable plastic on their backs, not a particularly sustainable choice. Herscovici says his website, furisgreen.com, averages 20,000 hits a month. He thinks people are beginning to see real fur as the more sensible fiber--considering the entire cradle to grave scenario.
