Chennai the capital city of Tamil Naidu which was formerly known as Madras is known for its rich culture and tradition and is one of the metro cities of the country. Covelong beach which is located at a distance of 40 km from the city is popular among tourists for its water sports and its aesthetic beauty. People also come here to enjoy fishing and other sports adventure. This beach is also surrounded by some historical monuments, Catholic Church and a mosque. There is well road and rail connectivity to these beaches from the city which makes them easily accessible by people.
