Davao City-The Three Havens For Tourists

Before I ask this question, let it be known that this query is directed at those people who have neither visited Philippines, nor having heard of it. Now given that prelude, I am eager to ask this: what do you know about Mindanao? This region has suffered unpleasant stereotypes since the late 1990's to the earliest years of the second millennium. Because of its high Muslim population and some presence of local Islamic rebels, Mindanao is one of the areas in the world that was potentially black-listed especially during the US anti-terrorism campaign. I have to say, being a resident within Mindanao; I find those stereotypical judgments too harsh to be reasonable.

I live in the safest city in the Philippines and you would not believe that it is found within the region most people thought to be quite unpopular for its safety. I am proud to present Davao City, and three among many other splendid natural tourist spots both local and foreigners have enjoyed visiting.

1. Samal Island
Samal Island is an isle located within the lagoon enclosed by four regions of Davao (Davao City, North Davao/Davao del Norte, East Davao/Davao Oriental, and Southern Davao/Davao del Sur). This island boasts of its white sand and clear blue sea water. One of the most visited resorts in this isle is the Pearl Farm Beach Resort. This vacation spot is an ideal place to have a relaxing stay. However, if one prefers a dynamic background, then one ought to visit Blue Jazz Resort. This beach resort is an ideal place to party hard, as everyone who comes here, both local and foreign patrons, always have sleepless nights full of wild revelry. There are other beach resorts found in the fringes of the island and all have great accommodations to offer.

2. Jack's Ridge
Jack's Ridge is located on a hillside near a Catholic shrine called The Holy Infant of Prague. Jack's Ridge is a vast establishment and also among the many favorite tourist spots in Davao City. Within the vicinity of Jack's Ridge; there is a café, a bar, a restaurant, a pub with live band performance, a park, a swimming pool and idyllic cottages for an overnight stay. They are all connected by an aesthetic network and trail of stone stairs accessible all around the slope. For all intents and purposes, Jack's Ridge resembles a colony meant only for the various pleasures of tourists. The most ideal perk of Jack's Ridge is to be able to view the entire Davao City panorama and the seaside beyond right from its high vantage point.

3. Eden
Eden is a vast garden resort located on the wooded fringes of Davao City, very near from Philippines' highest peak Mount Apo. Like Jack's Ridge, Eden resembles a colony intended for the pleasure of tourists, or perhaps more like its Biblical namesake if one seeks for a tourist paradise. They have a buffet hall, a cafeteria, swimming pool, pub, and cottages for overnight stay. But what sets Eden apart from other resorts is the fact that it is situated far from Davao city's civilization. It is a very ideal place for tourists to stay if they favor a cool mountainside venue close to nature itself. Among other functions included in the theme is a fishing village, if one favors the care-free and tranquil hobby of snagging trout by the placid lake. There is also a zip line ride, if one favors being strapped and hung for a fast ride along the winding cable wire and experience a taste of gliding over the forest. Eden boasts for its sweet offers catering mostly to couples planning on having a memorable and romantic honeymoon getaway.
