In many studies throughout the years vacations have been proven to delay death for both men and women. It was discovered that lack of vacations contributes to higher chances of heart disease and both men and women that occasionally take time off are less likely to die from the same coronary heart disease. Studies show that taking time off can reduce the risk of a heart attack by 32% in men and 50% in women. Vacationing can be just as important as watching your cholesterol, eating right or exercising. Additionally, going on vacation has restorative effects that can reduce stress and prevent burnout.

Planning a vacation can be an exciting family experience! A vacation stimulates the imagination, and makes us all have something to look forward to. It's a chance to take off the work hat and go out to play, learn, and explore. Vacations are a way to increase the quality of time spent with family, friends, and loved ones. Perhaps that is why couples go on honeymoons after they are married. On a vacation, discovering new places and finding new sides of one another are both possible.

Vacations are the perfect formula to avoid high health care costs and save money. As a way to reduce the ever-rising health care costs, people should consider saving by taking a vacation. As stated earlier vacations are an essential part for having great health. "What prompted our research was the conflict people face in spending discretionary income and using it to maximize their happiness. We asked people to think of times they've spent money pursuing life experiences and times they've spent money on material possessions. Most reported it's the experiences they remember most and brought them the most happiness. Travel can also make you a more interesting person. "Pursuing experiences fosters social well-being in a way that possessions don't. This happens because we do things with other people, while it's possible to acquire material possessions in isolation."

Vacations awaken an appreciation of things and people that are usually taken for granted, making the return home more inviting. A good trip may only last a week, but the personal benefits and memories derived from it last a lifetime. Now's the time to plan your next vitamin...I mean vacation!
